IMPHAL, feb 1: The First Graduation Service programme of Good News Bible College Imphal was held today at Imphal Christian Church, Imphal.
Gaikhangam, President Manipur Pradesh Congress Committee as a Chief Guest said that it is very fortunate for the people that the college is producing the graduate students. Studying bible is studying the teachings of god and its not an easy task.
He said that learning gods way and gaining knowledge to convey the people is also not so easy. It needs patience along with hard work. He also conveyed that the gospel written in Bible may enlighten the world.
MC Mary Kom, four times World Boxing Champion, Arjuna and Padmashri awardee as guest of honour, said that to know ourselves we must know god. We all make mistakes and confession is all we need.
She further said that when she struggled in her journey as player only god supported her and people laughed at her for playing boxing. After marriage and becoming mother a lot of pressure came to quit playing but support from her husband made possible what she is now. Afterwards her in-laws also supported her, she said.
She also said that as she had faced problems in her journey, the graduate students will also face the same problems. Patience and hard work is needed, she said while showing confidence that she would play in the Olympics. Fasting prayer in a week made her a world champion, she added.
The function was also attended by Wilson Talen founder and principal of Good News Bible College as president.
