This scenario is yet to be fully played out. The election of Barak Obama will not alter the prophecies. The 7 years following 9/11 fulfilled the Biblical Prophecy for the 7 years of tribulation contrary to what others would purport.
That period was the window of time given to turn the course of human activity away from the harshest prophetic scenarios and thus avoid some of them.
