IMPHAL, Feb 1 : The valedictory function of the "Oil and Gas Conservation Fortnight" from January 15 to 31 organised by the Petroleum Conservation Research Association under the Union ministry of petroleum and natural gas in association with the oil Industry was held today at the Manipur Press Club.
During the fortnight various programmes/activities like quiz competitions, painting and extempore speech, essay competitions and mass awareness were held in the state.
In today`s function Nobert Disinang, director of food and civil supplies and transport as chief guest said that students have a big role to play and their efforts would have a great impact on the younger generation.
Amarjyoti Bordoloi, divisional manager, Imphal and state level coordinator, Manipur told the IFP that he didn`t expect such a great response to the mass awareness programme on oil and gas conservation conducted at 20 IOCL petrol pumps and six strategic locations like bus and taxi stands and rural village points located in Imphal, Nambol, Thoubal, Kakching etc. during the fortnight.
The function concluded with a prize distribution ceremony for the children who had participated in various competitions.
